Here's some cool shots I took recently of Gobo having a little fun. Isn't she a little cutie?

Please note that now Gobo is sitting on 5 eggs!

More Xmas trip pics

On my way home, I stayed at a hostel. I was invited for dinner with my roommate and her new friends...we ate at a Persian Restaurant. Not the best service, but good food.

Xmas away

Inside my sis's cabin
This year, due to a Westjet Seat Sale, I decided to spend Christmas with my family.

Here are some photos of where my sister lives...on a nice lake. I really like the inside of the cabin she rents...it's so westcoasty!

Carolyn:-)

Thanks man

More Gobo photos

Wet Little Gobo

Hah! I wish I was ambitious enough to take more photos...

Here I have 2 dig cameras and what do I have to show for it?

Nothing, but a few more pics of Gobo. She is wet in one shot because she now loves taking showers with me. It's a bit challenging taking a shower with her on my head, I let her take one first under luke-warm water, then I put her on the curtain rod and take my shower.

Too freakin cold here to go outside to take pics

Pet memorial/Wicket

I finally found out from Vets who I owe cremation money to and *hopefully* where I can pick up Wicket's ashes. It sounds like it was listed as private, which I think means I can keep the ashes.. They let you choose between common and private. I found the # and called them and they will call me back this afternoon when the lady is at the office.

Apparently my avian vet is on holidays till the end of the month...I am glad I called today.....I was waiting and waiting for a return call. And I still haven't heard the rest of the results of Wicket's Autopsy. Oh well. Pray that I get my ashes (it's probably out of town in Shelley)

Wild Quakers and their Wild Ballads

Did you know that there are wild Quaker Parakeets in Brooklyn?

Go to http://brooklynparrots.com/ and check it out!

It still seems a bit lonely here with just Gobo, but I think that I will get another Cockatiel sometime next Spring. I really love Quaker Parakeets, but it doesn't feel right now that I get one, as I feel I don't have the proper amount of time to spend with them. This doesn't mean that I don't give my birds the attention they need, but Cockatiels are far less demanding to take care of then Quakers are. Perhaps sometime in the future I will get a QP...cause they are such sweet and clever birds.

***Update- there is the cutest little Quaker Parrot song mix at http://www.brooklynparrots.com/ballad-of-the-brooklyn-parrots-october-remix.mp3

or even better yet, watch the video at http://www.brooklynparrots.com/Ballad_of_the_Brooklyn_Parrots/

Partial Autopsy Results for Wicket

Well, the preliminary results came for Wicket's autopsy, and they have found a tan coloured object below his crop...looks like a foreign object...
the vet mentioned where it was..not sure exactly, but where it passes on to after it's been in the crop.

I am not sure what it could be, but it may have been that Wicket ate something that he shouldn't have...and it got stuck.

If this is what caused the problem, I guess that I would like to remind people to supervise their birds carefully when they are out of their cages, and to also be careful what toys, etc. that they put in their cages. This is so sad.
